I'm Jürgen Pretsch. Psychologist by training (Magister, University of Graz), Austrian by origin, New York by choice. I've lived in nearly a dozen countries, which is how I came to build a company for people who move.

I've built companies and worked inside other people's:

• Relocate.World, which I co-founded: the first independent marketplace for global migration, pairing people who move countries with vetted immigration advisors.

• SHÄP, a rent-anything marketplace I co-founded and ran as CEO, launched in Manhattan in 2022.

• ERC Experience Research & Consulting, my research consultancy in Graz: Austrian government-funded security and crisis-management research (FFG KIRAS projects such as GIREKO and WatchDog) alongside JOANNEUM RESEARCH and the Ministry of Defence; social science work packages, data analysis, project management.

• AcademicAI, a SaaS that takes Bachelor's and Master's students from a rough thesis idea to a structured, source-backed draft.

• Forward Thinking Press, non-fiction ghostwriting for founders and executives, and Uptown Press, where my own poetry and fiction live.

• GutWise, a Norwegian gut-health app, where I've been Head of Product in practice: validation, roadmap, product, and the words around it.

• Pretsch Management & Consulting, in New York, the entity behind everything on this site.

Earlier: traffic-safety coach at the Kuratorium für Verkehrssicherheit and senior research partner at the Institut für Urbane Sicherheitsforschung.

Twelve years of writing in other people's voices runs through all of it, in English and German. It's the part that never shows up on a résumé and the part every company I've built depended on.

Why one person: every company taught me the same thing. The voice, the product and the money are one decision made three times. When three vendors make it, the company pays for the seams. When one person makes it, it holds.
