Terms of Service

Effective October 3, 2026

These terms govern your use of juergenpretsch.com and any services you buy from Pretsch Management & Consulting LLC, 1850 Amsterdam Avenue, New York, NY 10031, USA (“we”, “us”, “PMC”, “Jürgen Pretsch”). By using the site or ordering a service you agree to them. If we sign a separate agreement or statement of work with you, that document controls where it differs from these terms.

1. The site

The site is for information and for getting in touch. You may read and share what is here for your own use; you may not copy the essays or other content for commercial purposes without permission, scrape the site, or use it in a way that breaks the law or damages it. Links to other sites are for convenience; we are not responsible for their content. We may change or remove content at any time.

2. What we sell

We offer, as described on the site at the time of your order and in any written quote:

  • The Sample piece. One finished piece of writing in your voice, 600 to 900 words, based on a thirty-minute call and delivered within five business days, with one round of revisions and a short note on your voice.
  • Visa business plans. A fixed-price business plan for an E-2, L-1 new office or EB-2 NIW case, written to your attorney’s briefing, as described on the site and in the SOW. O-1 evidence audit: fixed price, two weeks, credited against the evidence build if started within thirty days; refund rules as for visa business plans. O-1 evidence build: monthly fee, six-month minimum, scope in the SOW. For O-1 work, anything submitted as the client’s authorship must be the client’s own work; PMC provides editing and coaching for such material, not ghostwriting. Stated delivery times run from the working session and pause while a draft is with the client or the client’s attorney for review, or while information requested from the client is outstanding.
  • The Blueprint. A fixed-scope, fixed-price two-week engagement: voice guide, positioning page, one finished piece of writing, a platform or prototype scope and, where it applies, a one-page funding map.
  • The 90-day build. A 90-day engagement delivering the presence, platform or prototype and the writing set out in the statement of work.
  • Monthly retainer. Ongoing monthly work with a minimum term of three months.
  • The book. Long-form ghostwriting under a separate written agreement.
  • Fund. A funding map (fixed price, two weeks, one page: which programmes fit, when they close, what is missing and what closing the gap costs), a proposal (research, consortium building, work plan, budget, writing, submission support) and, after an award, project-lead work on retainer.
  • App rescue. A Rescue Check: a written report within 48 to 72 hours of receiving access on what is exposed, what is fragile, what to fix first and whether to rescue or rebuild. Fixes at a fixed price per problem area, a production pass (security, error handling, payments, tests and handover notes) and Care (monitoring, updates, small changes and a fixed block of hours each month), each as quoted in the SOW. Build work is delivered together with Michael Fuchs, named in the SOW.
  • Demo & Deck Sprint. Three weeks: a clickable prototype, a landing page with a waitlist, a pitch deck and one-pager and a 60-second product video. Delivered together with Michael Fuchs, named in the SOW.
  • Source audit. A free spot check of up to five citations. A paid audit checks, for every reference and direct quote in the text, that the source exists, that quotes match the original word for word with the page, and that the cited passage supports the claim; anything that cannot be verified from accessible sources is reported as open. Fixed price by the number of citations and quotes, delivered as a written report and a corrected reference list within ten business days, or five with express at a 50% surcharge, with one re-check of your corrections. An audit is not a fact-check of every statement, a legal review or an AI-detection check. For ghostwriters and agencies the report can be white-label, and we do not contact or solicit your clients.

Scope, deliverables, timeline and price are fixed in writing before work starts (the “statement of work” or “SOW”), by email or in a signed document. Anything not in the SOW is out of scope.

3. Prices and payment

Prices are in US dollars and exclude any applicable taxes.

  • The Sample is paid in full before the call. If you start a Blueprint or a 90-day build within 30 days of receiving the finished piece, the Sample fee is credited in full against it.
  • The Blueprint is paid in full before the first interview. If you start a 90-day build within 30 days of the Blueprint handover, the Blueprint fee is credited against the 90-day build.
  • The funding map is paid in full before work starts. If you start a proposal within six months of receiving the map, the funding map fee is credited in full against it.
  • The 90-day build is paid in three parts: one third at start, one third at day 30, one third at day 60, unless the SOW says otherwise.
  • Retainers are invoiced monthly in advance for a minimum term of three months, then month to month.
  • Proposals are paid in two tranches: half at start, half at submission. Where the SOW provides for a success component on an awarded grant, it becomes due when the award is confirmed in writing. No success component is charged for US federal programs.
  • Payments run through Stripe or by bank transfer; invoices are due within 14 days. Late amounts accrue interest at 1.5% per month or the highest rate the law allows, whichever is lower, and we may pause work until the account is current.
  • The Rescue Check is invoiced once access is agreed and paid before work starts; its fee is credited in full against a fix. Fixes and production passes are paid as set out in the SOW. Care is invoiced monthly in advance.
  • The Demo & Deck Sprint is paid in full before work starts. If you start a 90-day build within 30 days of the handover, the Sprint fee is credited in full against it.
  • A source audit is paid in full before work starts, at the fixed price quoted from the citation count. The spot check is free.

4. How we work

We work with you directly, without subcontractors, unless the SOW names one. You get two rounds of revisions on each deliverable within its scope (one round for the Sample; for visa business plans, two rounds plus the changes your attorney’s review requires); further rounds are quoted separately. Deadlines assume you provide interviews, materials and feedback when we ask; delays on your side move the timeline by the same amount. Either of us may reschedule a call with 24 hours’ notice.

5. Your side of it

You will give us accurate and complete information and you have the right to give it to us. You are responsible for the facts, figures and claims in anything we prepare on your behalf, including business plans, proposals, biographies and published pieces, and for reviewing every deliverable before it is filed, published or sent. You will not ask us to write anything defamatory, unlawful, or that misrepresents you, your business or your funding.

6. Intellectual property

Once a deliverable is paid for in full, you own it: all rights in the text, designs, prototypes and other work product created for you transfer to you. Until then, they remain ours. We keep the right to reuse our own general know-how, methods, templates and any code or components we did not create specifically for you, and we may describe the nature of the work we do in general terms without identifying you. Third-party materials (fonts, libraries, stock assets) remain under their own licenses.

7. Confidentiality and credit

We keep everything you tell us confidential, during and after the engagement, and will sign a mutual NDA on request. We do not name clients or publish case studies without written permission. Credit for our work is your choice: named, “with”, or invisible. Ghostwritten work is published under your name and we will not claim authorship. Manuscripts sent for a source audit are deleted 30 days after delivery and never used to train AI models.

8. No guarantees of outcome

We guarantee the work described in the SOW, not what happens after. We do not promise book sales, rankings, search traffic, funding awards, investor decisions, visa approvals or any other result that depends on third parties. Grant and funding proposals are evaluated by the funder; a proposal that meets the funder’s standards can still be declined. A source audit reports what the sources show at the time of the audit; it does not guarantee that a text is free of errors.

9. Not legal, financial, tax or immigration advice

We are writers, builders and research consultants, not lawyers, accountants or licensed immigration advisers. Documents we prepare for legal, financial, tax or immigration purposes are business documents; their legal sufficiency is for your attorney or adviser to determine, and you should obtain that advice. Business plans and materials prepared for immigration cases describe a business you intend to run; we do not create businesses for the purpose of misrepresenting anything to any authority.

10. Cancellation and refunds

  • Sample: cancel before the call for a full refund. After the call, the fee is non-refundable, with one exception: if, after receiving the draft, you tell us in writing that you do not recognize your voice in it, we refund the fee in full.
  • Visa business plan: cancel any time before the first draft is delivered for a full refund. After the first draft is delivered, the fee is non-refundable.
  • Funding map: cancel before the kickoff call for a full refund. After the kickoff call, the fee is non-refundable.
  • Blueprint: cancel before the first interview for a full refund. After the interview, the fee is non-refundable, with one exception: if, after receiving the first draft of the finished piece, you tell us in writing that you do not recognize your voice in it, we stop and refund the fee in full.
  • 90-day build: either side may end the 90-day build with 30 days’ written notice. Payments for work already delivered are non-refundable; we deliver everything completed to date and any unearned share of a paid part is refunded.
  • Retainer: after the minimum term, 30 days’ written notice from either side. Fees for the notice month are due.
  • Proposal: if you withdraw before submission, the first tranche is non-refundable and the second is not charged.
  • Rescue Check: cancel before access is set up for a full refund. After that, the fee is non-refundable.
  • Care: 30 days’ written notice from either side.
  • Demo & Deck Sprint: cancel before the kickoff for a full refund. After the kickoff, the fee is non-refundable.
  • Source audit: cancel before work starts for a full refund. After work starts, the fee is non-refundable.

We may end an engagement at once if you breach these terms, ask us to act unlawfully, or fail to pay; in that case fees for work delivered remain due.

11. Liability

To the fullest extent the law allows, our total liability to you for any engagement is limited to the fees you paid us for that engagement, and neither of us is liable to the other for indirect, consequential or lost-profit damages. Nothing here limits liability for fraud, willful misconduct or anything that cannot be limited by law.

You will indemnify us against third-party claims arising from information you supplied, from your use of the deliverables after we handed them over, or from your breach of these terms.

12. Independent contractor

We are an independent contractor, not your employee, agent or partner, and we control how the work is done.

13. Governing law and disputes

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of New York, without regard to its conflict-of-law rules. If a dispute arises, we will first try to resolve it in good faith through direct discussion for 30 days. Failing that, the state and federal courts located in New York County, New York have exclusive jurisdiction, and each of us agrees to that jurisdiction. If you are a consumer in the EU, mandatory rules of your home country that cannot be waived remain unaffected.

14. Changes

We may update these terms; the date at the top shows the current version. Engagements already under way continue under the terms in force when they started.
